Privacy Policy
1. Overview
IdeaFold is a local-first voice workspace. This policy explains how IdeaFold handles information when you use the Android app and this website. The developer is Coraflux. For privacy questions, contact support@ideafold.app.
2. Information stored on your device
Your notes, recordings, folders, and local backups are stored on your Android device. IdeaFold does not require an account and does not operate a cloud library or automatic device sync. You control deletion of this local content in the app or by removing the app’s data from your device.
3. Information sent for AI processing
When a new voice recording is saved, IdeaFold can automatically start transcription by default, unless you turn this setting off. You can also manually start AI operations such as transcription, text cleanup, title generation, summarization, or translation. In either case, IdeaFold sends the relevant audio recording or text to its processing service over an encrypted connection. That service uses Cloudflare and Google Gemini to process the requested operation. AI operations need an internet connection. We do not send your recordings or note text for AI processing unless automatic transcription is enabled or you start that operation manually.
4. Device identifier and credits
To protect the free credit allowance from abuse, the processing service receives a one-way HMAC-derived value based on your Android device identifier. The underlying Android identifier is not stored by the service. The derived value is used to associate the available credit allowance with a device, including after reinstallation.
5. Closed beta requests
If you request access to the closed beta on this website, we collect the Google Play email address you provide. We use it only to review your request, add approved testers to Google Play, and send access instructions.
6. How information is used
Information is used only to provide the requested AI operation, maintain the credit allowance, prevent abuse, troubleshoot service reliability, and comply with applicable law. IdeaFold does not use notes or recordings for advertising or sell personal data.
7. Sharing
Relevant audio or text is shared with Cloudflare or Google Gemini only when automatic transcription is enabled or you request an AI operation. Service providers process data to provide that operation. We do not share notes, recordings, or identifiers with third parties.
8. Retention and deletion
Local content stays on your device until you delete it. The service retains only the minimum operational information needed for credit allowance and security purposes. Closed beta requests are kept until the beta ends and for up to 90 days afterwards, then deleted. If you need help with a privacy request, contact support@ideafold.app from the email address you want us to reply to; do not include confidential recordings or note text in your email.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections for AI requests. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please keep your device protected and use backups responsibly.
10. Children
IdeaFold is not directed to children. Do not use the app if you are below the minimum age required to consent to data processing in your country.
